Visayas Exploration I: Sugbo Quick-away

There is always something exciting about summer. This year is a Visayas exploration for me and hubzter.

First stop- the queen city of the south, Cebu. We stayed at the most budget-friendly accommodation  at Capitol Tourist Inn located at Capitol Site, at the back of BPI, near Jose Rizal Museum, Cebu Doctors, and Fuente. Accessible, isn't it? Plus, the rates are very affordable starting at P550.00 per night for two pax. Huh... but of course, it's just basic (a/c, cable tv, and hot n'cold shower). No frills and quite old... It seems that it has already served innumerable tourists since it started. But who cares, you are only going to sleep here anyway. (Not a Paid ad, just sharing).

We have been in this city for a couple of times already but it never runs out of something new to offer particularly to  touristers like us. FYI, we are budget backpackers. We make the most out of our budget since we are not RK (rich kids) ;) . With our limited time since we are still going to other destinations, we opted to visit the following spots:

Temple of Leah

Going there, we rode a jeep to JY square. We chartered a  habal-habal, which charged P150/pax vv (apil na waiting time). Entrance fee is P50. We enjoyed the majestic temple inspired by great love and devotion. Unli photo shoot  here is free unless you are having prenup. We visited at night to avoid the scourging summer sun. On our way back to JY, we asked the driver to drop us at La Vie Parissiene, a French resto and bakery. It's quite pricey here so picture-picture na lang. I think this is where our Sky Bar is patterned- the domes to be exact.

Simala

Who would have missed this miraculous pilgrimage site for the Catholic believers like us. Going there, we rode a van near colon. the fare is P240 vv per pax. We were able to catch the Holy Mass at 12 noon. I am uncertain with the Mass scheds tho.Thousands of pilgrims and Marian devotees visit here daily for petitions and thanksgiving for answered prayers. Amazing! There are a lot of eateries nearby too. So dili gyud ka magutman... After here, we dropped at SM Sea Side. We just told the driver because the van passes by anyway. We had early dinner then. The mall is almost complete I think. The sky park is awesome!

Sto. Niño de Cebu Shrine &  Magellan's Cross

This is A-must visit site for us every time we visit ubeC. These two are near with each other so no sweat. Nothing but gratefulness for all the blessings we have received from God.
